Welcome To Amputee Care Center

Ricardo has been a proud prosthesis wearer for 20 years, ever since he lost his left leg due to vascular problems. Despite his amputation, he lives a rich and active life. Ricardo chooses not to let his amputation limit him and he still takes on new challenges almost daily. Two years ago, he and his wife decided to move to Spain. However, despite the distance, Ricardo remains loyal to Amputee Care Center (ACC) in Belgium, part of the Spronken Orthopaedics Group. Every year, he returns to the ACC prosthetic centre for maintenance of his leg prosthesis as well as to reunite with his family and friends.
Ricardo has been working with Robby, his regular prosthetist, with whom he has a very good relationship, for many years. Annual maintenance of his prosthesis is crucial for the longevity and also the functionality of the prosthesis and its components.
Prostheses are complex devices that need annual maintenance to keep functioning properly. At Amputee Care Center, the annual maintenance of your prosthesis is completely free and part of our prosthetic total care. Thanks to the care and expertise of the team at Amputee Care Center, Ricardo does not have to worry about his prosthesis. Not even when he stays in Spain during the year.
Prosthesis wearers often request (free) maintenance or a second opinion on their prosthesis from the ACC when their prosthesis is not comfortable, does not function properly, or they have doubts about the expertise of their current prosthetist. Technological advances, aesthetic preferences or better service may also be reasons to consult another specialist prosthetic centre.
Are you curious about how your prosthesis can be optimally adjusted or are you looking for a second opinion for possible additional options for your leg or arm prosthesis? Contact Amputee Care Centre for a free, no-obligation consultation over a cup of coffee.

Ricardo's favourite leg prosthesis is his custom-designed Whisky prosthesis. This is a unique design, created by the ACC, inspired by his love of whisky. Indeed, a prosthesis is so much more than a functional aid, aesthetics and humour play an increasingly important role in the design of our prostheses.
The possibilities are endless in this area at Amputee Care Center. From traditional foam mousing to lifelike silicone cosmetics or 3D printing. The ACC is known for advanced 3D printed prostheses and prosthetic sleeves. Using these techniques, we always go for a prosthesis that is not only functional, but also perfectly suited to the wearer's unique style and preferences.
Also want a prosthesis that exemplifies your personality? At Amputee Care Center, we design customised personalised prostheses so you can wear them with pride and confidence. Schedule a free introductory consultation and discover the possibilities!
Despite his leg amputation, Ricardo continues to travel extensively, both by car and by plane. He is now used to the small adjustments required for prosthesis wearers when travelling, such as at airport security. Thanks to his prosthesis and the care of the Amputee Care Center, he can travel short and long distances without worry.
For prosthesis wearers like Ricardo, a well-maintained prosthesis is hugely important while travelling. At Amputee Care Center, we design prostheses with durability in mind. The prostheses are therefore well suited for intensive use and also long trips. With free annual maintenance, the prosthesis remains comfortable and functional even when you don't live around the corner.
The prosthesis centre at Amputee Care Center in Genk is known for innovation and customisation. The multidisciplinary team works closely together to ensure that both prosthesis, rehabilitation and all other care are fully tailored to the prosthesis wearer. This involves not only functional prosthesis, but also the psychological effect of amputation and prosthesis. For Ricardo, his Whisky prosthesis means more than mobility. The prosthesis gives him more self-confidence and he can show his passion for whisky to the outside world in a unique way.
Innovation is a very high priority at the ACC. With advanced technologies such as 3D printing and digital designs, we can make prostheses that look good aesthetically but are also functionally adapted to the wearer. Every prosthesis wearer is unique and deserves a customised prosthesis.
Would you also like a personalised leg or arm prosthesis? Then request a no-obligation consultation with one of the prosthetists at the ACC and find out how we can transform your wishes into a custom-made prosthesis.
What sets Amputee Care Centre apart is the strong and often lifelong relationship between the prosthetics team and the prosthetist. For example, Ricardo has worked closely with his prosthetist Robby for many years, from whom he receives full personal attention. The collaboration and back-up of the prosthetics team behind the prosthetist ensures that the prosthesis fits his needs perfectly and he always feels that he is taken seriously.
At the ACC, each prosthetist is supported by a full team because making and fitting a prosthesis is a multidisciplinary process that requires technical, medical and therapeutic expertise. The team may include prosthetists, a patient coordinator and technical experts to ensure that the prosthesis functions optimally and fits the patient's needs perfectly. The backup of a good team ensures quality care and lifelong support for the client.
Ricardo has been a Spronken customer for 20 years, ever since his amputation. Choosing a prosthesis centre with a lot of experience, like Spronken Orthopaedics' ACC, offers continuity and confidence through its expertise and lifelong support of the prosthesis wearer.
A family-run prosthetics centre serving the same clients for generations builds strong relationships and provides personalised care tailored to the client's changing needs. This long-term guidance and experience provides in-depth client knowledge, innovation, and customised solutions, ensuring that prosthetic wearers receive the best possible care and support at every moment of their lives.
The ACC is a third-generation family business with more than 60 years of continuity of prosthetic care. A professional prosthetics team and good communication with clients is the key to our success! At the Amputee Care Centre, we involve the prosthesis wearer intensively in the entire process. After all, he or she has the best understanding of their own needs and preferences. With a child prosthesis, the parents are also very intensively involved.
We often hear that prosthesis wearers come to the Amputee Care Centre precisely because of the Spronken Orthopaedics team's years of experience and good reputation and the personalised total customised care. These are often the important motive for requesting a second opinion for a prosthesis at Amputee Care Center.
The collaboration between Amputee Care Center and Ricardo is far from over. The prosthetics team will continue to assist him for life with the maintenance of his prosthesis and any future adjustments. Amputee Care Center's goal is to enhance the quality of life of prosthesis wearers and see everyone walk out with a broad smile. We therefore strive to provide every amputee with the best possible customised care, with maximum expertise and dedication. For Ricardo too, this has ensured that, even after 20 years, he still goes through life with his leg prosthesis with confidence and pride. He even travels up and down from Spain for it.
