News article Gazet

An article recently appeared in the Gazet van Antwerpen about Joe Claridge and the possibilities offered by modern prostheses. The article also features Tom Daniëls, technical manager at the Amputee Care Centre by Spronken.

The message is clear: nowadays, a prosthesis is much more than just an aid. New technology enables people to move again and actively participate in daily life. Would you like to find out more as an amputee? We would be delighted to invite you for an introductory consultation.

Innovation in prosthetics

At the Amputee Care Centre (ACC) by Spronken, specialists work every day on designing and manufacturing arm and leg prostheses. Thanks to new materials and technology, arm prostheses and leg prostheses are becoming increasingly lighter and more comfortable. As Tom Daniëls also points out in the Gazet van Antwerpen: “Technology has come a long way today.”

This means that people with an amputation can often do much more than was previously thought.

More than just a prosthesis

At the Amputee Care Centre in Genk, Belgium, we don’t just focus on the prosthesis itself. Our team of specialists looks at the whole picture for you or your child as a prosthesis user: how do you live and move in your daily life, and which solution best suits those needs?

That is why our technicians and prosthetists, as well as physiotherapists and psychologists, work together to offer comprehensive, tailor-made care for every patient. Because everyone deserves the best possible care for an optimal quality of life. That is always our goal.

A growing prosthetics centre in the Benelux

Amputee Care Centre is a specialist unit within Spronken Orthopaedics. A family-run business that has been active in technical orthopaedics – in Belgium and the Netherlands – and the manufacture of arm and leg prostheses for over 60 years.

Under the leadership of Caius Spronken, the third generation, the company has grown to become a true pioneer in the Benelux region and beyond. Innovation plays an enormously important role in this. Our team continues to invest in new techniques, lighter materials, refined designs and better solutions for people with an arm or leg amputation.

A look to the future

The development of prosthetics is advancing at a rapid pace. Thanks to new technologies, we can ensure that prosthetics are increasingly better suited to the body and the daily life of you or your child as an amputee.

At Amputee Care Centre, our focus is therefore always on innovation and providing the best possible support. Ultimately, a high-quality prosthetics centre is not just about the technology, but also about the person. According to Caius Spronken, the most important question we must always ask ourselves is: “How can we help to maximise the quality of life for the person receiving care?”.

Are you a prosthesis wearer yourself and would you like to know more about new possibilities? Perhaps you are not entirely satisfied with your current prosthesis or would like to know more about modern comprehensive care and next-gen prostheses? You are welcome to come in for a free, no-obligation second opinion.
